About

Vicenza, a small city just 40 minutes from Venice, is the place where I was born and which immediately imparted to me the true sense of beauty and harmony. And this is thanks to Andrea Palladio, the Renaissance's most famous architect, a man who lived in Vicenza for most of his life and filled the city with stunning palaces and incredible buildings.

The most famous sights are the "Palladian Villas" on the edge of town, but the city itself is also full of buildings he designed. Although most people don't know this, these villas were the inspiration for Thomas Jefferson's Monticello estate and even the White House.

So, this tour is designed to do two things: introduce you to Vicenza the city and introduce you to some of Palladio's amazing architecture. Our walk will go all around the city center where we'll see many Palladian palaces, beautiful squares, and the very unique Olympic Theater. We'll also chat about history and local life here along the way.
