Roberto is an exceptional guide. Obviously a subject matter expert, his plan and time allocation for a combined Ercolano and Pompeii tour over five hours was excellent. We saw the sites and were given the relevant timelines, historical context, explanation of the discovery and archaeology that recovered the cities, and then a great explanation of what period life looked like at the time of the eruption. Our guide was very knowledgeable and fluent in the area. Lots of history. Would have enjoyed a little more “inside baseball”. Felt a lot of the information could have been derived from the internet.
