About

This tour in the Umbria countryside combines visits to charming towns with tastings at small, local food and wine producers. The goal is to get away from the crowds, see the countryside, interact with locals, and try some delicious food and drink.

We'll first visit Montefalco, a little-visited but lovely town known for the production of excellent linen. After, we'll stop by an olive oil mill to learn about the production process and try some fantastic oil.

Next, we'll continue on to the tiny town of Bevagna, which preserves a rich history and excellent gastronomic tradition. Here, we'll take a walk around town and then head over to a local producer of cured meats. Prepare for the best porchetta (roast pork) and salami of your life!

Outside of Bevagna, we'll visit a small vineyard where we'll get to meet the people actually producing the wine. We'll chat about the wines of Umbria (and how they differ from those produced nearby in Tuscany) and then get to taste them, accompanied by some excellent local cheeses, cured meats, bruschetta, and local cookies.

Please note: If you do not have your own transportation, I can arrange for a driver to take you around for the day (for an additional fee). You can specify if you'd like transportation when booking.
