About Ingrid
Ingrid is a true Romana, born and raised in the Eternal City. She's been working in tourism for over 30 years. She started off as a countrywide tour leader and, for the past 2 decades, has also worked as a fully licensed local guide in Rome.
She leads tours all over metropolitan Rome, in the Vatican, and in the countryside beyond the city, particularly to Etruscan archaeological sites and off the beaten paths places within the greater Lazio region.
Rome has a wealth of treasures, many of them hiding in plain sight, and Ingrid especially loves showing both first-time and repeat visitors hidden gems and local secrets.
A big foodie, she always has a suggestion for fabulous local restaurants, as well as advice on the city's best wine cellars.

A note from Ingrid
Hi everybody! My name is Ingrid and, even though my Northern European name might make you think otherwise, I'm 100% Roman.
As a local guide, I've spent the last 20 years exploring my city and seeing it from different perspectives. So, despite having lived in the region almost all my life, I like to think that I understand Rome in lots of different ways.
But I haven't only stayed in Rome! Immediately after finishing university, I got the license to be a tour manager and I spent many years traveling all over the world with groups of Italian tourists. It was a great opportunity to see distant places and learn about different cultures.
I enjoy sharing my interest for Rome and the greater Lazio region (which many visitors know almost nothing about) and I try to run tours that include the highlights (museums, squares, churches), but also hidden beauties like private noble palaces, forgotten archeological areas, stunning gardens, and more.
In my free time, I love reading and watching movies and I especially like watching movies about Rome and I especially like trying to find ways to have my tours pass by locations that feature in iconic and interesting scenes.
