About Paolo

Paolo is originally from Lecce, but is now based in Matera, in the neighboring Basilicata region. He’s been guiding travelers around his home region and most of Southern Italy for almost 20 years.

Paolo is an avid cyclist, slow food enthusiast, and a big fan of helping travelers experience Puglia far from the tour buses and packaged itineraries. A proponent of traveling in one’s own backyard, when not guiding (or after a trip!) most days you’ll find Paolo on his bike exploring rural country roads and forgotten villages, or on the hunt for the best local restaurants.

After more than 20 years of guiding I can help you to find the most interesting sightseeing for you, but also to have experiences where you enjoy local food, wine, crafts, the outdoors, entertainment, and of course fabulous beaches.

I have lived almost all my life in Lecce, but I am an addicted traveller; no matter what means of transportation I can find, my aim is to explore and that is the way of living my life. Now I am based in Matera, an amazing UNESCO site, and, beside having here my girlfriend, it is also a perfect location to go exploring all of Southern Italy.
