Hi everybody! My name is Mimmo and although I’m a native Sicilian, I was educated in Germany, so my background is a bit mixed. I have also lived in the United States. These years abroad have influenced me in many ways, but one major thing is that I have a much more German sense of time than Italian! Meaning... I try to always be on time!
As a guide, I’ve been exploring Sicily for the past 25 years and I think I can honestly say that there's nowhere I haven't been. And having spent many years abroad and shown around guests from all over the world, I think that I have a unique perspective on my island and life here. I of course know it as a local, but I also see it through the eyes of visitors.
I haven't always been a private tour guide - I started off like most working for other tour operators and and travel agencies. Eventually, I became a "tour leader" and spent many years guiding larger tour groups on multi-week trips around Italy and Sicily.
Eventually, I became a fully licensed local guide and began working for myself giving private tours. In addition to being a licensed guide, I am also a licensed driver, which means that I can drive clients in my own car. So, I do lots of driving tours all over Sicily, ranging from day trips to multi-day excursions. I use two vehicles, a Mercedes sedan and a Volvo SUV.
On a more personal level, I really enjoy sharing my interest for my home's history, the events that made Sicily the way it is, our gastronomy, and our unique local culture and way of life. In my free time, I love reading, Yoga and playing Tennis.
It'd be a pleasure to meet you and show you around Sicily!

My husband and I very much enjoyed our day at the Valley of Temples with a delicious lunch in a nearby seaside resort town at a restaurant recommended by our guide, Domenico. Domenico is very knowledgeable about the history of the area and pointed our places of interest during our 2-hour drive from Polermo to Agrigento. He explained the history of the Greek settlement in the area. His English is excellent and easily understood. HIghly recommended.

We had a lovely day visiting Cefalu followed by Monreale with it's amazing cathedral. Domenico is a very knowledgeable and articulate guide as well as a very safe and skillful driver. We felt very comfortable traveling with him. He shared a wealth of information about both Cefalu and Monreale and directed us to a restaurant in Monreale where lunch was one of the best meals of our trip. Domenico was also patient and considerate of my husband's problem navigating a lot of stairs and offered alternative routes whenever possible. We highly recommen him.

They were reliable, responsive, and timely. They also were very fairly priced. They put together an itinerary with my input that was customized. Our driver picked the ideal routes to give us a great experience and captured the local culture of the area. This included stops related to our ancestral heritage and stops that were important for the general area. The driver even routed us seamlessly through the countryside to give us alternative perspectives of Sicily. He even made great recommendations for our lunch. They were great with older, mobility limited, individuals within our family as well.

Mimmo was an excellent guide for our two week tour of Sicily. My wife and I had been planning this trip since 2019 and finally the time had arrived. Mimmo helped me refine the itinerary and gave us great input on alternate places. His deep knowledge of Sicilian history and culture greatly improved our enjoyment of each place. As an architect there were major monuments and sites I wanted to see and his perspective added to each stop. He picked us up at Catania airport and we went to Taormina for a couple days with a trip up Etna and a winery visit. Then to Siracusa, with day trip to Noto. From there went to the Roman Villa for the mosaics on way to Greek temples in Agrigento. Followed by Selinunte and boat trip in bay of Marsala. Medieval hilltop town of Erice and Segesta, then final days in Palermo. Mimmo was great in adapting to our reduced walking as trip continued, including a 'put-put' tour in Palermo, seeing much more than we could have walking. His warmth and humor and knowledge were great assets for us. Highly recommend him. PS - April is a great time to visit before the real tourist season starts and sites are overwhelmed by crowds from cruise ships and bus tours.

We had a 9-day excursion with Mimmo throughout Sicily. It was a fantastic trip. This was our fourth trip to Italy, and we finally made it to Sicily. Super happy that we did, and we had a great experience with our guide Mimmo. Mimmo was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of Sicily. Being with a guide for 9 days we obviously asked a lot of questions about a lot of topics, and he was insightful on all subjects. His knowledge on the numerous Archaeological sites, temples, and churches that we visited was extensive. We also learned a lot about the countryside and history of the island as we were driving from city to city. He connected us with some of his favorite restaurateurs which made for many memorable meals. Mimmo is Sicilian and has been a tour guide for 20 years, so he clearly has many connections which makes for a lot of unique experiences when it comes to dining. He makes the connection and now your treated like family which is super cool. The Sicilian people are a very warm and welcoming culture. I can only imagine how it would be if we were from Sicily because a lot of people asked us if we had Sicilian roots. We don't but if you do it is game on. Mimmo was punctual which we like. If he said start time was 9:00AM he was there at 8:50 and ready to roll. Give him notice of your needs (bathroom break) as you're travelling, and he will make it happen. Our daughter had a significant medical issue during this trip, and he was able to connect us with a pharmacist that provided her with medicine to get her by. He was extremely professional in handling this female issue. Our daughter did get an actual house call from a doctor once we arrived at our next hotel the following day but what Mimmo did went above and beyond and provided our daughter with much needed relief. How he handled it was exceptional, and we are grateful. Mimmo is a 10 out of 10.
