Alessandro is a licensed tour guide from Venice who was born and raised right here in the city. With a degree in history from Ca’ Foscari University and over 30 years of experience as a teacher in addition to his 10 years guiding, he brings both a deep historical knowledge and personal experience and affection to his tours of Venice.
Alessandro offers a range of tours, covering the city's most iconic landmarks along with walks through its quieter neighborhoods, hidden little corners, and lesser-known sites, monuments, and museums. His tours can be adapted to fit any focus and interest, but he usually tries to offer a nice mix of history, art, and touristic sightseeing along with local everyday life.

Ciao a tutti and hello! I’m Alessandro and I'm a licensed guide here in Venice, the city in which I was born and where I grew up. While I now live across the lagoon over in Mestre, I spent the first 30 years of my life in Venice proper and this city is deeply embedded in my heart. I am a proud Venetian to the core, and I love showing visitors the embarrassment of riches that my city has to offer.
Going back to my university days, I graduated with a history degree from Ca'Foscari University (whose campus is over in Venice's Dorsoduro neighborhood), after which I became a teacher and taught history, Italian, and geography. I also worked as a tour leader in the summer for many years, and after a little over 3 decades (!!), I decided to make a change and become a full-time tour guide. So, in 2016, I passed the guide exam and became tour guide here in Venice. I haven't looked back since!
For my tours, I try to offer a bit of everything, combining the highlights of the city with its neighborhoods, local life, and lesser-known but still wonderful sights, squares, and monuments. I of course love showing visitors the beauty of this city, but I also want my guests to understand its long history and wonderful culture, as this is much more than just a lovely place to look at.
As you'll see from my tours below, I guide all over the city, covering iconic places like Saint Mark's Square, the Doge's Palace, the Basilica, and the Rialto Bridge, along with walks through Venice's hidden corners, through the Jewish Quarter (the oldest in Europe!), and around the pleasantly local Dorsoduro neighborhood.
Venice has so much to see and do - more than you could possible hope to explore in just a single visit - and it would be my pleasure to help you experience the very best of it. So, what are you waiting for? Let's start planning your tour! I hope to hear from you and to have the chance to show you my city.
A presto!
